The Poly Chain GT Carbon belt from Gates is an evolution of the original Poly Chain GT belt. It is identifiable by the blue color in the belt's tooth surface. New materials allow the Poly Chain Carbon to transmit at least 25% more power than the Poly Chain GT2. A carbon fiber cord provides - besides strength - longitudinal stability, increases flexibility, and resistance to shock loads. - Can be used with a back tensioner - Temperature range extended to -54°C to +85°C - The belt does not extend - no retensioning needed - Resistance to dust, oil, and chemicals Poly Chain GT Carbon is the absolute top model in timing belts, and its high strength allows for very compact designs in new constructions. Existing belt drives can also be optimized. Poly Chain GT Carbon belts run on Poly Chain timing pulleys.
