Timeline

1853: A. Schjøth starts his business in Vejle
1865: L.S. Lange begins selling foundry goods in Aalborg
1921: L.S. Lange's business is taken over by N.K. Strøyberg
1926: N.K. Strøyberg merges with the iron and foundry business Unmack and Petersen A/S. At this time, the current company is established under the name Lange & Unmack A/S

1970s

1972: On January 1, Lange and Unmack A/S merge with Schøth A/S, and the company is renamed Sanistål A/S
1972: Merger with Skive Jern A/S
1975: A new department is established in Aalborg. The department is named Jysk Maskinteknik A/S and primarily aims to service industrial customers
1977: Merger with C.A. Petersen's Eftf. Haderslev
1978: Merger with Jensen and Kjærsgaard A/S

1980s
Sanistål's growth continues through the 1980s, as the company merges with a total of five companies:
1981: Merger with Vejle Jern- og Stålforretning A/S
1984: Merger with Brønderslev Jernhandel A/S
1984: The company goes public as Sanistål on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.
1987: Merger with the plumbing company Carl Eskildsen and Fredericia Jern og Stål A/S 1988: Merger with Døssing Jensen A/S

Jysk Maskinteknik establishes five divisions:

1990s
1990: Merger with Jysk Rør & Stål A/S
1991: Acquisition of H.C. Puck A/S' E-division
1991: Acquisition of shares in the company Hofman Stål A/S
1992: Acquisition of Struer Jern & Staalforretning A/S
1993: Acquisition of Otto C. Jensen A/S + Løfquist & Søn A/S
1994: Acquisition of Transteknik A/S
1995: Acquisition of Nekton A/S
1995: Assets of the German company MAX SCHÖN are taken over. Sanistål thus establishes itself internationally in Poland, Estonia, and Latvia. Today, MAX SCHÖN operates as a subsidiary
1996: Acquisition of Verni Maskiner A/S + P.E. Ehrhardt A/S + Erik Hasselkjær A/S
1996: Merger with Jysk Maskinteknik in Viborg 1997: Acquisition of Otto Secher
1997: Denmark's largest outsourcing agreement to date is signed with the shipyard Danyard A/S in Frederikshavn. Thus, Sanistål marks itself as a leading company in logistics and SCM concepts
1998: Acquisition of Industri Distribution A/S
1999: Acquisition of shares in Serman & Tipsmark, which today is a subsidiary

2000s
2002: Acquisition of Holstebro Jern- & Stålforretning A/S + takeover of shares at the tool wholesaler Brødrene Vestergaard A/S
2004: Acquisition of Scan-Valve
2006: Acquisition of the plumbing wholesaler UAB Hidruva in Lithuania. A company that both imports and distributes a wide range of recognized products within heating, ventilation, sanitation, tiles, etc.
2006: The product range is expanded with electrical engineering
2007: Acquisition of Carl F A/S. A market-leading company in door and window fittings, fastening, and tools for the carpentry and joinery industry
2007: Acquisition of Jørgen Smidt Trading A/S + 39.12% of shares in Brdr. AO Johansen
2007: A 55,000 square meter central warehouse in Billund and 33,000 square meters of outdoor storage space are put into use
2008: Steel storage in Taulov is completed. It is designated as Northern Europe's most modern steel storage

2010s
2010: The distribution operation is outsourced to Danske Fragtmænd
2011: Introduction of specially packaged delivery under the name CustomKit
2012: Taulov central warehouse is awarded a crown smiley
2013: Billund central warehouse is awarded a crown smiley
2013: Launch of a new webshop
2014: Launch of three new service concepts: An app where customers can shop via mobile phone, StockMaster where customers can pull products directly from a machine, and finally, the product range "Selected," which focuses on special, high-frequency products
2015: Acquisition of Lystrup Grossisten A/S
2022: Expansion of our large robot warehouse in Billund
2022: Sanistål is acquired by Ahlsell
2023: Acquisition of KJV
2023: Acquisition of Bacher workwear
2024: Sanistål A/S changes its name to Ahlsell Denmark
