ASSA ABLOY EL580 Magnetic Lock

Used for example for interior and exterior doors in office buildings, and for exterior doors in apartments and private homes. ASSA ABLOY EL580 is suitable for emergency exit doors because the internal door handle always activates the latch. The auxiliary latch on the lock case blocks the handle latch in the closed position. The locks can be controlled by various types of electronic impulse-generating equipment such as card readers, code locks, timers and push buttons. Function: Latch lock with deadlocking and split handle latch tube. The lock is primarily electrically controlled, so it locks automatically after the use of a cylinder or knob, unless there is an impulse or constant signal indicating it should be unlocked. When the door is closed, the auxiliary latch blocks the handle latch in the locked position. The electromagnetic lock function can be controlled for example by access control systems, on/off timers, fire alarm systems, etc. EL580 can be set to either normal or reverse function. The external handle is electronically controlled. The internal handle always opens the lock. In normal function, the external handle opens when powered, and thus does not operate when power is cut. In reverse function, the external handle does NOT open when powered, but opens when power is disconnected. The lock can always be opened with a key/knob or interior handle.
