Tooth design: A variable tooth design with 4/6 teeth per 2.5 cm and a positive tooth angle of 10° offers the following advantages: Faster and more aggressive cutting. Improved heat dissipation during cutting keeps teeth sharper longer. Deeper tooth curve means faster chip clearance and thus fewer blockages and less heat. Specially shaped teeth reduce the tendency to snag in thin materials. Teeth bent to the sides to prevent binding and friction. Requires lower pressure – combination of aggressive tooth geometry and good chip clearance means only minimal pressure is needed to drill. Tooth material: The area of the hole saw where the teeth are placed is made of Matrix II high-speed steel of the highest quality and contains 8% cobalt. This maintains the hardness of the hole saw, even under high thermal influence, such as when drilling in metal. Bi-metal construction – HSS steel teeth are laser-welded into a low alloy steel body. The teeth are then vacuum-hardened to 65 HRC at a temperature of 600°C to provide them with maximum durability and lifespan. The high durability of Matrix II steel makes these hole saws ideal for drilling in hard materials, such as stainless and corrosion-resistant steels and soft materials like wood.
