Ahlsell continues its push with another acquisition

The Nordic and Baltic trading group Ahlsell has reached an agreement to acquire Bacher Work Wear. This is the company's second acquisition in Denmark this year.

Another Danish company will soon be added to the Ahlsell group, which earlier this year purchased Sanistål. Ahlsell has reached an agreement to acquire Bacher Work Wear, which has 75 employees and a revenue of 178 million DKK – and has been outfitting the Danish business community since 1897. This is part of the Ahlsell group’s ambition to grow in Denmark and strengthen its market position in the distribution of technical products. The acquisition is subject to approval from the competition authorities.

A Tailored Match

At Ahlsell Denmark, CEO Claudio Christensen describes Bacher Work Wear as a “tailored strategic match.” The Ahlsell group aims to be a one-stop-shop for its customers in the Nordic and Baltic countries. With the purchase of Bacher Work Wear, Ahlsell Denmark takes a significant step towards offering one-stop shopping for workwear in the industry. With a range of more than 50,000 products from 150 brands, Bacher Work Wear is a leader in workwear, uniforms, and promotional clothing, explains Claudio Christensen, who adds:

”Bacher Work Wear complements Ahlsell Denmark’s product range and expertise, making us even more relevant in the industrial market. With the expanded assortment of workwear, there are both synergy advantages and cross-selling opportunities – and together we can provide our industrial customers with a strong total solution.”

Retaining Name and Director

Bacher Work Wear is headquartered in Amager and has a large logistics center in Odense. According to plan, the company will continue under its own name and organization, and Managing Director Peter Vallentin will remain in his position. He looks forward to the impending change of ownership:

"We have grown by 40% over the past two years, and with Ahlsell Denmark, we have acquired a long-term, ambitious owner who can help accelerate that development. There are also opportunities in Sweden and Norway, where the Ahlsell group is well-positioned in the workwear market. We look forward to opening a new chapter in our long history, where we can jointly create growth and strengthen our future value proposition for customers.”
