Sanistål's store in Grenaa is this year's recipient of the coveted award. The store performs exceptionally well on all parameters, which is partly due to a very proactive business manager.
Grenaa is the Sanistål Store of the Year
Out of the group's 42 stores, it was this year Sanistål's store in Grenaa that could bring home the trophy when the Best Store award was presented at the annual chain meeting.
The store, with its seven employees, narrowly beat the two larger stores in Køge and Amager. All three stores ranked in the top 10 on three out of four key figures.
”In addition to performing on hardcore KPIs, the store is characterized by its ability to improve on all parameters year after year. It is oriented toward the local community and has consistently delivered better results in terms of the store's physical impression, promotional sales, and, just as importantly: engaged employees who fully meet customers' needs,” says Sanistål’s sales director Claus Jæger Nørbjerg, who especially highlights the store manager in Grenaa, Kim Andersen.
“He is able to take in what comes from above while being proactive himself,” continues Claus Jæger Nørbjerg.
Team Effort
The store manager in Grenaa, Kim Andersen, is both surprised and proud that this year's award landed at the store in Grenaa.
“First and foremost, this is a team effort. The employees at the store represent more than 125 years of experience in Sanistål, and we wouldn't have reached this point without a large and loyal customer base,” says Kim Andersen.
“We are proud to be recognized for what we believe we do particularly well. For many years, we have persistently worked to take responsibility for and cultivate our local area. Our customers should be treated as we would like to be treated. It's not just about good prices; it's also about being visible and proactive, for example, when new developments are happening in the area and proudly showing our presence,” says Kim Andersen.
Together with Sanistål's three regional managers, Claus Jæger Nørbjerg evaluates the stores based on a wide range of both hard and soft criteria, ranging from revenue and earnings to the service level of the stores and overall standard. Increasingly, it also matters how store managers manage their roles and how customers perceive the stores.
In addition to a trophy, a diploma, and a gift card for a large cake for the winning store’s customers and employees, the award for Best Store is naturally also an honorary award, with significant internal competition to win it.
