Sanistål launches Scan & Go in all stores
Scan & Go is already available in thirteen stores, and by March, all store customers will be able to avoid lines at the checkout and quickly get back to their day's agenda. For plumber Dan Olsen, the digital self-service solution saves him time every day.
Plumber Dan Olsen from the nationwide installation company Uggerly Installation is a customer at the store in Aalborg and one of those who is already a frequent user of the new self-service solution. At the Scan & Go kiosk in the store, he scans the items himself and checks out with Sanistål's app on his mobile phone.
“As a traveling plumber, I shop in the store daily, and for someone like me who knows what I need and where to find the items, it is extremely time-saving. The waiting time I save at the counter can instead be used to serve our customers,” says 61-year-old Dan Olsen, who has been a customer of Sanistål for over 40 years.
“I welcome digital development when it makes my everyday life easier. And that’s what Scan & Go does. I remember the time when a transaction could take up to an hour. So the fact that we now have the opportunity to scan the items ourselves, and now also can quickly pay and check out ourselves, is a clear improvement. And if I can figure it out, so can others – there’s no magic to it, and the app is very easy to use.”
Easy and better customer experience
It is precisely customers like Dan Olsen who are the target group for Scan & Go.
“It is a huge advantage for customers that they do not have to stand in line at the checkout but can serve themselves and quickly continue with their day's agenda. When we shop in the supermarket, we have gotten used to being able to scan our purchases and check out ourselves. And we expect to encounter that self-service in our professional lives as well.
It is part of our strategy to continuously improve our customer experience and make it as easy as possible for customers to shop with us – they should primarily focus on their core business,” says Natascha Schøtt Kjærgaard, Director of Digital Sales & Engagement.
Scan and Go has been tested and rolled out in Sanistål's store in Aalborg since late November and is now also available in the stores in Grenå, Haderslev, Holbæk, Kalundborg, Køge, Maribo, Næstved, Odense C, Odense M, Søborg, Sønderborg, and Taastrup. The rest of the stores will gradually follow until March.
