The Danish wholesale company Sanistål has entered into a new strategic warehousing partnership with Danske Fragtmænd A/S, which will help pave the way for Sanistål's ambitious growth strategy.
As part of the agreement, the two companies are implementing a full integration of their warehouse and logistics systems, which gives Sanistål a great opportunity to scale its business.
“We have ambitious plans to grow in Sanistål, and therefore we expect pressure on our warehouse capacity. By integrating our IT systems and warehousing collaboration, we gain access to use Danske Fragtmænd's more than 200,000 sqm warehouse hotel facilities as a supplement to our own logistics business. This provides us with a more cost-effective operation and unique scalability, so we can deliver goods to even more customers in the future,” says Stephan Schuler, who is the Supply Chain Director at Sanistål.
Sanistål is already in the process of expanding its fully automated AutoStore robot facility, which handles the vast majority of the total goods flow at the company's central warehouse in Billund.
"We have two strategies to increase the capacity of our warehouse. First and foremost, we will continuously expand our high-tech AutoStore system in the coming years. Additionally, we need further warehouse capacity for a wide range of important volume goods and pallet items, and we now have access to this through our integrated warehousing collaboration with Danske Fragtmænd," says Stephan Schuler.
Initially, it is primarily Sanistål's large project business that will be supported by the warehousing collaboration with Danske Fragtmænd. The agreement, which currently runs until 2025, initially covers a volume of up to 4,000 pallet spaces, but it is planned that the collaboration will grow significantly in the coming years.
Sanistål and Danske Fragtmænd have already collaborated closely since 2010, when Danske Fragtmænd took over Sanistål's transportation and distribution, which had until then been handled in-house.
